Premier Hearing Solutions asks: Do you...
- Frequently ask people to repeat themselves?
- Often feel tired or stressed during conversations?
- Turn up the volume on your TV or radio so that others complain?
- Have difficulty understanding conversation, especially in noisy places?
- Avoid social situations?
- Find yourself denying that you have a hearing problem, particularly to your spouse or partner?
- Often miss hearing the digital watch, mobile phone, or the trafficators in the car?
Everyone experiences these problems occasionally, however, if you experience them consistently, you may have a hearing loss. Don't despair. You are in good company, "more than 28 million Americans currently have some degree of hearing loss, from mild to severe, and the number is expected to soar in the coming years-reaching an astounding 78 million by 2030!" (HealthNewsDigest.com, 2005)
Usually the process of hearing loss is so gradual that the person with the hearing loss does not notice the decline ---- but others do. Much can be done to help you hear better, and to prevent further deterioration. Premier Hearing Solutions will discuss these matters with you.
Adults 21 years and older evaluated at Premier Hearing Solutions will undergo testing to determine the type and degree of hearing loss. Tests performed will include pure tone air and bone conduction audiometry and speech audiometry.

How old must a child be before a reliable hearing test can be obtained?
Children ranging in ages from newborns to 21 years of age are evaluated Premier Hearing Solutions. A newborn infant can have his/her hearing tested through auditory brainstem-evoked response testing (ABR), Auditory Steady State Response (ASSR) and/or otoacoustic emissions (OAE). Children functioning beyond the 6-month developmental level can be evaluated through visual reinforcement audiometry (VRA) or conditioned play audiometry (CPA). No child is too young to have his/her hearing evaluated.
